Hi, and welcome to a new edition of [The Daily Dealflow](https://www.theinvestorsociety.com/tag/the-daily-dealflow/) — the 5-minute briefing that gives you clear context on capital flows and market-moving trends across the Americas, from Silicon Valley to Buenos Aires. Let's dive in.

## 🏆 Deal of the Day

Samsung is investing $1B in Helix, the AI infrastructure company that KKR launched and Nvidia backs. Samsung and Helix did not disclose the size of the stake or Helix's valuation. Samsung Electronics is putting in $500M, and five affiliates are adding the other $500M through a long-term capital fund, joining founding investors KKR, Nvidia, U.S. power company Vistra and the Kuwait Investment Authority – [TechNode Global](https://technode.global/2026/09/29/samsung-invests-1b-in-kkrs-ai-infrastructure-firm-helix-joining-nvidia-vistra/?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Why This?:** Samsung usually makes money from AI by selling memory chips to the companies doing the buildout. With this check it owns part of a company that builds data centers, power generation, transmission and fiber for hyperscalers, which puts a Korean conglomerate's balance sheet next to KKR, Nvidia and Vistra in AI infrastructure.

**Positive Context:**

- Helix launched in June 2026 with more than $10B committed, and it says power availability is the biggest bottleneck in AI infrastructure. It plans to lock up energy capacity through direct investments and partnerships with large energy developers.
- The deal extends Samsung's push to get closer to AI demand than its HBM chip sales allow, which also includes reported custom-chip talks with Anthropic.

**Yes, but:**

- With no stake, valuation, revenue or customer figures disclosed, there is no way yet to compare Helix with peers such as Modal Labs ($15.75B) or Fireworks.

**Zoom in:** Two of the five Samsung affiliates in the deal are insurers, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, alongside Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS and Samsung SDI – [KED Global](https://www.kedglobal.com/artificial-intelligence/newsView/ked202609290001?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).
