Dapta, an AI sales startup founded by Colombian entrepreneur Nicolás Rojas, announced on October 13, 2026, a US$6 million seed round led by Chingona Ventures. New investors Crew Capital, Broom Ventures and Cometa joined, along with returning pre-seed backers 500 Global and Fen Ventures. The round follows a US$1.4 million pre-seed in 2024, bringing total funding to US$7.4 million. Coverage places the company in different U.S. locations: Refresh Miami says it was founded in Miami and also operates from Scottsdale, Arizona, while the company's press release lists Scottsdale as headquarters.

Dapta's main product, Dapti, lets owners with no technical background build AI agents that reply to inbound leads by phone or WhatsApp, answer early questions, qualify prospects and book meetings. Plans start at US$99 a month, with a free tier. The startup began as a no-code tool for developers, but pivoted when few of those users paid. Rojas is CEO. The money will fund product development, customer acquisition and expansion across the U.S. and Latin America, including a scheduling tool and an internet-based phone system.

## Market Context

Dapta reports more than 200,000 users, adding about 4,000 a week, and says revenue doubled in the last six months. Customers range from Mercado Libre, Rappi and Siigo to U.S. service businesses such as Nona Cleaning in Orlando and Aether Mechanical in Denver. The company expects annual revenue above US$4 million in 2026\. It has built much of its demand through educational AI content, with more than 400,000 social media followers.

The deal lands as AI sales agents move from large enterprises to smaller firms. According to Chingona's Samara Hernandez, large companies adopt AI at about twice the rate of the smallest businesses, leaving a gap Dapta wants to fill. Dealroom reports the round ranks in the top 5% of U.S. marketing seed deals by size. Crew Capital, co-founded by UiPath founder Daniel Dines, brings automation experience to the cap table.

## Key Signal

> "For years, companies invested in getting more leads. The new challenge is having the capacity to attend to all of them." Nicolás Rojas, Founder and CEO, Dapta

## Regional Relevance

For the United States, Dapta targets a large and growing customer base: Latino-owned small businesses. Dealroom cites the State of Latino Entrepreneurship report, which shows 44% growth in this segment over five years. Many of these owners run law firms, insurance agencies, cleaning companies or home services, where a missed call can mean a lost sale. Dapta first gained traction with Spanish-speaking owners, a market Rojas says traditional software companies have overlooked.

For Colombia and Latin America, Dapta is another example of a regional founder building in the U.S. while selling back home. More than 50,000 companies in Latin America have created agents on its platform, according to Ecosistema Startup. With Cometa, a Latin American fund, on board, the expansion plan points to companies in the region that rely on WhatsApp for sales and have small teams to answer every message.

## The Other Side

**What do the revenue figures really show?** Ecosistema Startup describes US$4 million in annual recurring revenue, while English-language coverage presents US$4 million as expected revenue for 2026\. That is a projection, not a reported result, and the company has not clarified which figure is accurate.

**How many of the 200,000 users actually pay?** A free tier and heavy social media marketing can inflate user counts. Paid conversion is the metric that matters, and it was not disclosed.

**Can a small startup stay ahead of bigger platforms?** CRM providers, telecom companies and Meta's own WhatsApp tools are all adding AI agents. Dapta's edge is ease of use and its focus on Spanish-speaking owners, but larger players can bundle similar features at low cost.
