Hi, and welcome to a new edition of [The Daily Dealflow](https://www.theinvestorsociety.com/tag/the-daily-dealflow/) — the 5-minute briefing that gives you clear context on capital flows and market-moving trends across the Americas, from Silicon Valley to Buenos Aires. Let's dive in.

## 🏆 Deal of the Day

Intel shares closed down about 29% on Friday, the day after the chipmaker forecast fourth-quarter revenue more than $1B below market estimates and said it does not expect positive cash flow this year. The drop erased more than $146B of market value and pulled the Nasdaq down 2.86%.

**Why This?:** Intel is one of the largest U.S. chipmakers, and its slide hit chip stocks from Seoul to Silicon Valley, which matters to any Americas portfolio holding U.S. tech. The U.S. government became its largest shareholder with a 10% stake in August 2025 and faced a hit of nearly $12B.

**Positive Context:**

- **Q3 was fine:** Intel beat third-quarter earnings estimates, and PC chips made up roughly half of the quarter’s revenue. The damage came from the outlook.
- **Demand exists:** Supply disruptions limited Intel’s ability to meet growing data-center chip demand, so the constraint is capacity, not buyers.

**Yes, but:**

- At the end of September Intel held $21.84B in cash against $46.32B in long-term debt, while spending on its contract manufacturing business keeps draining cash flow.
- Soaring memory prices, as suppliers shift output to AI chips, are squeezing its PC business. [TheStreet](https://www.thestreet.com/stock-market-today/stock-market-today-dow-jones-sp-500-nasdaq-updates-oct-30-2026?ref=theinvestorsociety.com) adds that Intel also cited a PC slump and a factory accident in Israel.

> Matt Britzman of Hargreaves Lansdown said, **“The market is in a sell first, ask questions later mood right now,”** according to [Investing.com](https://www.investing.com/news/stock-market-news/intel-warning-sparks-chip-rout-as-pc-weakness-clouds-turnaround-4987123?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).
