Hi, and welcome to a new edition of [The Daily Dealflow](https://www.theinvestorsociety.com/tag/the-daily-dealflow/) — the 5-minute briefing that gives you clear context on capital flows and market-moving trends across the Americas, from Silicon Valley to Buenos Aires. Let's dive in.

## 🏆 Deal of the Day

Perry Weather, a Dallas-based AI weather-safety platform, raised $110M in a Series C led by Silversmith Capital Partners, with existing backer Arthur Ventures also returning — pushing its total funding to $131.35M. The round lands as more than 20 state high school athletic associations now mandate wet-bulb-globe-temperature monitoring and OSHA moves toward the first federal heat-injury-prevention standard – [Dallas Innovates](https://dallasinnovates.com/dallas-perry-weather-raises-110m-to-automate-severe-weather-safety-decisions/?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Why This?:** Regulation quietly manufacturing a market — as heat and severe-weather rules tighten across US states, the businesses that turn "check the weather" into an automated, auditable compliance decision are becoming as essential as payroll software, a dynamic that could just as easily play out across construction- and agriculture-heavy economies throughout the Americas.

**Positive Context:**

- Perry Weather already serves more than 3,000 organizations — school districts, municipalities, construction firms, manufacturers and major-league sports teams — giving it real revenue and renewal data behind a $110M check, not just a pitch deck.
- Demand is increasingly written into law: beyond the 20-plus state athletic-association mandates, seven states now enforce workplace heat standards, and OSHA's proposed federal rule would make weather-safety monitoring a compliance requirement for employers nationwide.

**Yes, but:**

- A company built around monitoring hardware and cloud alerts at thousands of sites has to execute close to flawlessly — a missed or delayed alert isn't just a bug, it's a liability event involving actual human safety.
- Regulation-driven demand cuts both ways: the same rules fueling Perry Weather's growth today could just as easily invite better-funded enterprise-safety incumbents to build a competing feature once the category proves itself out.

**Zoom in:** Founder and CEO Colin Perry — who holds an actual meteorology degree from Texas A&M — has scaled the company to serve 3,000-plus organizations with a headcount of roughly 100 people, a customer-to-employee ratio only a mostly-automated, software-first weather-safety platform could realistically sustain.

> **The comment:** ***"Weather is getting more regulated and more disruptive every year, and the stakes are human lives,"*** said Colin Perry, Perry Weather's founder and CEO, per [Dallas Innovates](https://dallasinnovates.com/dallas-perry-weather-raises-110m-to-automate-severe-weather-safety-decisions/?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Bluecore Energy (US)** – $50M, seed, small modular nuclear reactors mounted on barges that get towed to ports, data centers and islands, led by Silverton Partners with Harlem Capital, MaC Ventures and Kevin Hart's HartBeat Ventures. Founded by ex-Uber executive Kofi Asante, headquartered inside the Port of Long Beach – [The Investor Society](https://www.theinvestorsociety.com/bluecore-raises-us-50m-to-float-small-nuclear-reactors-into-ports/).

**Lightfield (US)** – $47M, Series A, AI-native CRM built for companies whose workflows are increasingly run by AI agents rather than humans, pulling data automatically from email, calendar, Slack and LinkedIn through what the company calls an "agent harness." Founded by CEO Keth Peiris, the round was led by Andreessen Horowitz's Alex Rampell, joined by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Coatue, Greylock, Maverick Capital and Audacious. Launched only last November, Lightfield already counts more than 5,000 customers — including, reportedly, dozens who switched over directly from Salesforce – [SiliconANGLE](https://siliconangle.com/2026/09/09/ai-native-crm-startup-lightfield-raises-47m-to-build-an-ai-agent-ready-replacement-for-salesforce/?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Savvy Wealth (US)** – $100M, Series C, AI-native platform for independent financial advisors that bundles CRM, portfolio and tax data into one system alongside "Savvy Intelligence," its AI-agent toolkit for registered investment advisors. Founded by CEO Ritik Malhotra, the round was led by Halo Fund — co-founded by Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith and Ryan Sweeney — with Thrive Capital, Industry Ventures, Index Ventures and Euclidean Capital also participating, valuing the company at $600M. That's triple Savvy's valuation from its last round, a reminder that even "boring" back-office wealth tech can move fast once AI gets involved – [Axios](https://www.axios.com/pro/fintech-deals/2026/09/09/savvy-wealth-100m-series-c-halo-fund?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**TwoStep Therapeutics (US)** – $62.5M, Series A, clinical-stage oncology developing peptide-drug conjugates that squeeze into tumors antibodies can't reach, co-led by Insight Partners, Medical Excellence Capital, M Ventures and Pfizer Ventures. Co-founded by CEO Caitlyn Miller with Stanford's Jennifer Cochran, Ronald Levy and Nobel laureate Carolyn Bertozzi – [The Investor Society](https://www.theinvestorsociety.com/twostep-raises-us-62-5m-to-send-a-peptide-where-antibodies-cant-reach/).

**Overroute (US)** – $5.5M, funding round, AI freight-execution platform that automates load monitoring, exception handling, scheduling and driver communication for logistics operators. Led by CEO Alex Reed, the round was led by UP.Partners, with EIC Rose Rock, 1834 Ventures and Tulane Ventures also participating. The company was actually hatched inside J.B. Hunt itself, spun out of a 2024 collaboration with UP.Labs, and is already running across the trucking giant's entire network processing millions of loads a year – [FreightWaves](https://www.freightwaves.com/news/overroute-raises-5-5m-to-expand-ai-freight-execution-platform?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

In the near future, AI could produce such an abundance of goods and services that it leads to deflation. In fact, within ten years, money could become almost meaningless because “anyone can have anything they can think of,” according to Elon Musk, the world’s richest man. For now, however, things are moving in the opposite direction. As **The Economist*’s analysis shows, manufacturers of consumer electronics that use AI in their production are experiencing an unprecedented upswing in prices.

## 🏛️ Private Equity

**C6 Bank–Alymente (Brazil)** – undisclosed value, acquisition, Brazil's C6 Bank — which serves roughly 42 million customers — is buying corporate-benefits startup Alymente, founded by former Stone executives and already serving more than 1,200 corporate clients including Heineken and Nissan. Co-founder André Purri stays on to run the newly rebranded "C6 Benefícios" unit, giving the digital bank a foothold in Brazil's roughly $28B corporate-benefits market — and, notably, more than 70% of Alymente's own clients had already been asking for banking services bundled in – [LatamList](https://latamlist.com/c6-bank-acquires-alymente/?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Berkshire Residential Investments–MF1 (US**) – undisclosed value, buyout, real estate investment manager Berkshire Residential Investments bought out its partners to take full ownership of MF1, a private-label multifamily mortgage lender it had previously only co-owned through a joint venture. It's a bet that as banks keep pulling back from commercial real estate lending, owning the lender outright — not just a stake in it — is where the real money sits – [BusinessWire](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260909645363/en/Berkshire-Residential-Investments-to-Acquire-Full-Ownership-of-MF1-the-Leading-Private-Label-Multifamily-Mortgage-Lender?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Navan–BoomPop (US)** – undisclosed value, acquisition, corporate travel-and-expense platform Navan (Nasdaq: NAVN) bought BoomPop, an AI-powered corporate events and meetings platform, pushing Navan beyond travel bookings and into planning the meetings employees actually travel for. It's the same logic that turned Expedia and Uber into "everything apps" for consumer spending, now arriving for corporate spend – [Skift](https://skift.com/2026/09/09/navan-buys-boompop-to-push-into-meetings-and-events/?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Precera Medical–Additive Metal Services (US)** – undisclosed value, acquisition, medical-device supply-chain company Precera Medical bought Additive Metal Services, adding metal-injection-molding and 3D-printing capabilities in-house rather than continuing to outsource them. A small deal, but a telling one: medical-device makers are increasingly deciding that owning their own manufacturing tech is cheaper than renting it – [BusinessWire](https://www.businesswire.com/newsroom/subject/merger-acquisition?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Specialized Packaging Group–DFW Crating & Packaging (US)** – undisclosed value, add-on acquisition, Altamont Capital Partners-backed protective-packaging roll-up Specialized Packaging Group bought DFW Crating & Packaging, its latest bolt-on after previous tuck-ins like Packaging Concepts & Design and Complete Packaging. It's classic private-equity buy-and-build: stitch together enough regional crating shops and eventually you own the whole supply chain for how heavy industry ships things without breaking them – [Packaging Strategies](https://www.packagingstrategies.com/articles/106659-spg-acquires-dfw-crating-and-packaging?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Macy's (US, NYSE: M)** – Q2 FY2026 earnings beat, the department-store chain posted EPS of $0.63 against a Street estimate of just $0.37 and raised its full-year guidance — yet shares still slipped about 1.4% on cautious commentary about tariffs and margins. A classic "beat but the stock drops anyway" moment, and a reminder that in this market, guidance talks louder than the quarter that just closed, retail industry – [TheStreet](https://www.thestreet.com/stock-market-today/stock-market-today-dow-jones-sp-500-nasdaq-updates-sept-10-2026?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

Florida's hurricane season now has a premium tier: [PriorityEvac ](https://www.priorityevac.com/how-it-works?ref=theinvestorsociety.com)charges members $1,250 a year for private-flight evacuations out of storm zones, capped at two escapes annually, betting that "peace of mind" is worth paying for before the storm even forms.

Apple finally joined the foldable-phone race with its $1,999 iPhone Duo — a 5.4-inch phone that unfolds into a 7.6-inch screen — arriving years after Samsung and Huawei, though analysts still expect Apple's brand pull alone to grab roughly 40% of foldable shipments by the end of 2027 – [Brew Markets](https://www.brewmarkets.com/stories/apple-finally-folds?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).
