Hi, and welcome to a new edition of [The Daily Dealflow](https://www.theinvestorsociety.com/tag/the-daily-dealflow/) — the 5-minute briefing that gives you clear context on capital flows and market-moving trends across the Americas, from Silicon Valley to Buenos Aires. Let's dive in.

## 🏆 Deal of the Day

GE Aerospace agreed to acquire Consolidated Precision Products (CPP), a Cleveland-based maker of aerospace and defense castings, for $11.75B — buying out private equity owners Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners in one of the year's largest industrial M&A deals, funded with $7B in cash plus new debt – [Bloomberg](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-09-08/ge-to-buy-consolidated-precision-products-for-11-75-billion?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Why This?:** The hottest M&A story in American manufacturing right now isn't AI — it's aerospace supply chains so strained that the industry's biggest engine maker would rather just buy its own supplier than keep waiting in line for parts, a dynamic with knock-on effects for every airline and defense contractor across the Americas.

**Positive Context:**

- CPP runs roughly 20 global facilities with about 6,600 employees producing superalloy, titanium, aluminum, magnesium and steel castings for commercial engines, aftermarket services and defense platforms — exactly the "mission-critical" capacity GE says it needs amid strong simultaneous demand across all three markets.
- The deal is expected to be immediately accretive to adjusted EPS and free cash flow in its first year, with GE saying it won't change its existing capital-allocation plans to get it done.

**Yes, but:**

- GE is paying roughly 26 times CPP's projected 2027 EBITDA before synergies (about 18 times with them baked in) — a rich multiple that leaves little room for error if the promised cost savings don't fully show up.
- The deal isn't expected to close until the second half of 2027, a long runway during which an aerospace supply chain already stretched thin has to keep functioning smoothly under continued private-equity ownership in the meantime.

**Zoom in:** Warburg Pincus first bought CPP from Arlington Capital Partners back in October 2011, with Berkshire Partners joining as a co-owner in 2019 — nearly 15 years of private-equity ownership ending with the company's single biggest customer simply buying the whole shop outright.

> **The comment:* *"Investing in mission-critical casting capacity is needed to support the strong simultaneous demand across commercial engines, aftermarket and defense,"* said H. Lawrence Culp Jr., GE Aerospace's chairman and CEO, per* [*CNBC*](https://www.cnbc.com/2026/09/08/ge-aerospace-to-buy-castings-maker-cpp-for-nearly-12-billion.html?ref=theinvestorsociety.com)*.*

The analysis of the 20 largest private equity investors shows that European GPs remain more home-focused, with 66% of their deal activity concentrated in Europe, while North American firms are slightly more global, though 57% of their activity still takes place in North America. Ardian, Vista, and Thoma Bravo are among the most regionally concentrated firms, whereas Partners Group, EQT, Advent, Carlyle, and KKR show greater international reach. APAC remains significantly underpenetrated: despite representing around 36% of global GDP, it accounts for only 12% of deal activity, with India leading the region in deal count ahead of Australia and Japan. ## 🏛️ Private Equity

**Longpoint Partners (US)** – $195M, real estate acquisition, the Boston-based investor bought a 10-building, nearly 730,000-square-foot industrial portfolio across established Miami-Dade submarkets, building on a South Florida presence it has been quietly expanding deal by deal all year. It's a bet that "last-mile" warehouse space near one of the country's busiest ports keeps getting more valuable, tariffs or no tariffs – [BusinessWire](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260909736852/en/Longpoint-Acquires-%24195-Million-Miami-Industrial-Portfolio-Building-on-Longstanding-South-Florida-Presence?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Grupo México–Saavi Energía (Mexico)** – merger closing, mining conglomerate Grupo México finalized combining its power-generation assets with Saavi Energía, majority-owned by BlackRock's Global Infrastructure Partners, creating a 4.5-gigawatt platform across roughly 10 plants that its owners are already calling Mexico's leading private power generator. Grupo México now holds 70% of the combined company to GIP's 30%, with both sides signaling they'll hunt for new energy projects elsewhere in the Americas next — proof that BlackRock's infrastructure arm and Mexico's richest man see the same opportunity in keeping the lights on – [Bloomberg Línea](https://www.bloomberglinea.com/latinoamerica/mexico/grupo-mexico-y-blackrock-buscaran-nuevos-proyectos-en-america-tras-cerrar-fusion-de-activos-electricos/?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**American Equipment Solutions (US)** – undisclosed value, acquisition, the Rotunda Capital Partners-backed overhead crane and hoist provider bought BC Wire Rope & Rigging, an Anaheim, California wire-rope and rigging supplier founded in 1974 with six branches across California and Arizona. It's the latest tuck-in for a roll-up strategy that's been stitching together the unglamorous but essential business of keeping heavy industry's cranes and slings actually working – [BusinessWire](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260908316712/en/American-Equipment-Solutions-Acquires-BC-Wire-Rope-Rigging?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Heidelberg Materials–Cementos Inka (Peru)** – acquisition, the German building-materials giant is buying a 70% stake in Cementos Inka, a family-owned Peruvian cement producer with two grinding units near Lima and Pisco capable of 1.3 million tonnes a year, valued at roughly 6 times projected 2026 EBITDA. Heidelberg calls it an "asset-light" transaction since Cementos Inka imports its intermediate materials rather than owning heavy production infrastructure — a way to ride Peru's construction boom without pouring fresh concrete of its own capital into new plants – [Global Cement](https://www.globalcement.com/news/21212-heidelberg-materials-acquires-majority-stake-in-cementos-inka?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Great Point Partners (US)** – undisclosed value, sale, the healthcare-focused PE firm sold MLM Medical Labs, a clinical-trial and biomarker-testing lab operator, to Labcorp, capping an investment that grew the company's revenue and EBITDA fourfold and expanded it from a single German site to locations in the US and South Africa. It's a tidy reminder that "boring" lab infrastructure behind clinical trials can be just as lucrative an exit as anything with an AI label on it – [BioSpace](https://www.biospace.com/press-releases/great-point-partners-iii-sells-mlm-medical-labs-to-labcorp?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

**Milhaus (US)** – undisclosed value, acquisition, the Indianapolis-based multifamily developer completed its purchase of Broadshore Capital Partners, a Los Angeles and New York-based investment management and lending platform with more than 35 years in real estate, folding it into Milhaus following its recent merger with Sares Regis Group – [BusinessWire](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260909311768/en/Milhaus-Completes-Acquisition-of-Broadshore-Capital-Partners?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

After 18 years in the S&P 100 and roughly $230B in lost market value since its 2021 peak, [Nike just got booted from the index](https://nai500.com/blog/2026/09/nike-loses-its-sp-100-membership-after-nearly-18-years-what-does-the-exit-mean/?ref=theinvestorsociety.com) — while SpaceX is reportedly next in line to join, a tidy symbol of old consumer brands giving way to AI and space-tech darlings.

Columbia House, the mail-order music club that once controlled 10% of US recorded-music retail on the strength of its "12 records for a penny" trick, is finally shutting down after 71 years — its collapse sealed by streaming, its irony sealed by the vinyl and CD revival now happening among Gen Z – [The Hustle](https://thehustle.co/news/the-rise-and-fall-of-columbia-house-mail-order-music-club?ref=theinvestorsociety.com).

Crypto's bridges keep getting robbed: over Labor Day weekend, hackers drained [roughly $320M from the Liquid Network's federation wallet](https://therecord.media/liquid-network-blockstream-crypto-theft-hackers-keep-reward?ref=theinvestorsociety.com), then returned most of it while keeping $47M for themselves as self-styled "white hats" — the 26th such bridge attack in 2026, up from just three in all of 2025.
